Pine Salve and Rum Soap Gift Set
Connecticut has the White Pine, a shorter scruffier tree than its western cousin the Ponderosa. Today, pine needles and bark are harvested and dried for use in teas, tinctures and infused oils. Pine resin is the golden jewel of the tree due to its incredible healing properties. White Pine has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, expectorant, diuretic, antibacterial, stimulant, antispasmodic and astringent properties.
Ingredients: pine infused olive oil, coconut oil, beeswax, essential oil.
This is a fun soap to make and is inspired by the story of Captain Kidd, a Pirate who smuggled all kinds of treasure to Connecticut’s shores in exchange for goods and services - one of which was Connecticut made rum.
Today, rum is once again being made here in Connecticut and I’ve created a soap to salute this entrepreneurial spirit and ingenuity, using only rum made by Connecticut distillers.
Ingredients: olive oil, coconut oil, safflower oil, sunflower oil, goat's milk, CT distilled rum, fragrance oil.
